what pushchair/pram do you think is best?

does anyone have any opinions to which pushchair/pram is the best?

Not sure what country you’re in so difficult to recommend anything useful in case you can’t get it there!

As it’s for a newborn and you’ve mentioned you have a big boot and lots of storage space, I’d definitely recommend a travel system to begin with. These typically include the chassis (wheels), pushchair seat, car seat and or carrycot. Sometimes you’ll have to buy the car seat and/or carrycot separately, but the point is they all fit on the same wheels!

The carrycot means your baby can lay flat from birth (like a pram), the car seat means you can lift you sleeping baby out of the car in the seat and attach to the chassis without waking the baby (was a godsend in first few months) and pushchair option is there ready for when your baby is ready to sit up!

Works out very expensive though and not sure what your budget is. We were lucky to buy it second hand at the time.

I’d recommend getting a pushchair that can face you… studies have shown the benefits of parent-facing and more face to face interaction are high! It helps stimulate your baby’s brain and also helps them to feel safer and more secure than those who forward face.

Also bought a carrycot separately.
It’s not the best, but it does everything I wanted a travel system to do (parent facing, car seat + carrycot, large basket) and was the absolute cheapest I could find! If you’re on a tight budget but don’t want to go second hand, I’d recommend this.

Not cheap when you take into account buying the car seat + carrycot separately, but again does everything I’d want a pushchair for newborn to do and Mamas and Papas are always excellent quality!

Most importantly, try pushchairs out! It’s important to ensure the handlebar (if not adjustable) is at a comfortable height for you and your partner, otherwise you may end up with backache from stooping. It’s good if the wheels have some “bounce” to get up kerbs easily… and a huge basket is always a massive bonus!
